We find it unacceptable that only 36% of donor-funded development projects are successful. (McKinsey-Devex 2011) We present a solution for sustainable community development. It starts with truly believing that people are the solution to their own poverty and giving them the confidence that they can create change.
When faced with such systemic, deeply rooted issues, it is hard to see the forest from the trees. We engage communities in developing their own Clara Vista – a clear vision for the future. A vision they can stand by in the midst of all the rapid development surrounding them.
WHAT WE DO
We break down large aspirations into tangible tasks to instill confidence and inspire action. This work is summarized in a 5-year action plan that is revisited every 6 months. The Venado Community Center has become the platform for all of these community-defined initiatives and a hub for meetings and workshops.
